Sophie Baigent Signs For Ipswich Town

We are absolutely delighted to announce that midfielder Sophie Baigent (21) has signed with Ipswich Town on a one-year-deal with the club option of a second year.

England youth and ex-Reading academy player Baigent spent last season at Hashtag United where she endured a stellar campaign, winning the clubs' Player of the Season award.

We are delighted for Sophie to now be able to go full-time and showcase her talent at the WSL2 level. We look forward to supporting her during this next stage of her career. On the signing, PBS director Tom Peace said:

"It's a brilliant move and opportunity for Sophie. She had many clubs in for her at this level, but as a team we felt the project and trajectory of Ipswich under Joe and Rachel was the best for her. They have been after her for a long time and it's very pleasing that we've been able to wrap it up as there have been some challenges along the way. I commend Sophie for how professional she's been with it all as the process has been very stop-start. She's a top talent and I'm backing her to excel at this next level."
