How Do You Become a Football Agent?

Updated: Oct 18

FIFA licensed agent Tom Peace from PBS Football agency says, "Before the 1st of January this year, anyone could become a football agent as long as you pay a fee, which is £600 a year, you haven't been bankrupt and you haven't got a criminal record - anybody could register and become a licensed football agent and represent players.

Today it's a bit harder than it was. FIFA reintroduced the exam from the 1st of January 2024. You have to have passed the FIFA exam to be an agent with FIFA and then therefore also to be an agent with your relevant FA. The exam is notoriously quite difficult - 20 questions to be completed in 1 hour with a 75% pass rate required. If you pass this exam (which occur twice per year in April and September) then you can pay your fee to FIFA and you can become a licensed agent".
